This mudra enhances our sense of contentment by facilitating rhythmic breathing that has a balancing effect on our mind and emotions. It directs breath and awareness into the entire front of the body, enhancing circulation to all systems of the body. It supports a sense of comfort and inner security that instills optimism and a positive attitude.
To Practice this Mudra:
Touch the tips of all the fingers of each hand to the same fingers on the opposite hand.
Extend the thumbs straight up.
The fingers are separated and rounded as if holding a globe, with the wrist resting comfortably against the abdomen.
Relax the shoulders back and down, with the spine naturally aligned.
Take several natural breaths to attune to all the feelings and sensations evoked by this mudra.
Hold for 1 to 5 minutes, release when you feel a greater sense of contentment.
