Dharmadhatu Mudra
Gesture of Tranquility

This mudra directs breath, awareness, and energy to flow along the entire front of the body, instilling a steady and calm rhythm in the breath so the mind can rest. it reduces stress and calms the nervous system.  It cultivates an expression of serenity and spaciousness allowing the process of welcoming and witnessing. Thus reducing our tendency to identify with our thoughts and feelings. 

This mudra is particularly helpful during meditation. It cultivates centering and calm energy to dispel lethargy. During meditation body, breath, and senses, and mind are integrated naturally allowing one to experience the silent space between thoughts. 

To Practice This Mudra:

Place the left hand onto the lap with the palm facing upward. 

Rest the back of the right hand onto the palm of the left hand.  

Touch the tips of the thumbs gently together, forming an oval shape.

Relax the shoulders back and down with the elbows held slightly away from the body and the spine naturally aligned.
